What we measure

This is the whole of it. Every line below is generated from the app itself rather than written out, so it cannot say one thing and do another — and the same list is on the “What we measure” screen inside the app, from the same file.

Never: an IP address, a user agent, a cookie, a device fingerprint, an email address, a postal address, a photograph, a child's name, anything a child typed or said, the question or the answer. No advertising, no other company, ever. It is kept on our own server and sold to nobody.

The pages before you sign up

Everything above is about the app, and the app is unchanged: nothing there is shared with anybody. Outside it, /early now carries a Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel, because that is the page our adverts point at — so if you arrive from an advert, Facebook is told that somebody reached it. It is told nothing else: not whether you go on to sign up, not what you typed, not who you are. Signing up is reported to nobody. That is also the whole of where it is: not on the free quizzes, which children use; not on anything behind the sign-in; and switched off entirely for anyone who is signed in, on every page. We would rather say this plainly than have you find it in a browser tool.

While a child is using the app

Counted so we can see whether children come back, and whether they are getting better.

What a grown-up does

The few things done on the grown-up screens, and the weekly email.

The account

Your trial and subscription. These are how the account works, so they are always counted.

When something breaks

So a fault can be found and fixed. Always counted, and never anything from the screen.

Kept for 13 months, then reduced to monthly totals with nothing in them about any family. Ask and we delete yours; delete the household and it goes with it.

A family can switch all of this off except faults and the account, which are how the app works. It is on the “What we measure” screen: open the app, tap your own name, then “What we measure”.
